What we store: We store your audio clip and an approximate location derived from your device location.
We deliberately blur coordinates to reduce precision.
Optional public attribution: You may provide a display name, website, and photo. If provided, they will be
publicly shown alongside your clip so people can credit you or find your work. If you leave them blank, your contribution
will appear as Anonymous and without a photo.
What we don’t store: We do not require an account. We do not intentionally collect your real name, phone number,
or exact address. Uploaded photos are re-encoded to remove embedded metadata before storage.
Content rules: Don’t upload anything illegal, hateful, threatening, or that invades someone’s privacy.
Don’t upload copyrighted material you don’t have permission to share.
License you grant:
You retain ownership of your recording and photo. By submitting, you grant Tenderfoot Electronics a
perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to
host, reproduce, publicly perform, display, distribute, and
modify / adapt / remix / process your clip and associated image as part of the Tenderfoot Electronics Area Code project,
related Tenderfoot Electronics hardware and software, exhibitions, and project promotion.
You also allow other people to stream and reuse clips in their own musical or artistic works, including in paid performances.
Restrictions: clips may not be repackaged or sold as a standalone audio product, sample library, or competing service without
permission from Tenderfoot Electronics or the original contributor.
Removal: You can request deletion of your own clip. If we provide a deletion code after upload,
keep it safe - it can be used to remove your clip later.
